Speech-Language Pathologist

The Prairie School is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. This role is dedicated to supporting students with speech, language, and communication challenges, enabling them to thrive academically and socially. The ideal candidate will have expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders, and will work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents to develop and implement effective therapy strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct thorough evaluations to assess speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Therapy Plan Development: Develop individualized therapy plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
- Direct Therapy Services: Provide direct speech and language therapy in one-on-one and small group settings, focusing on improving communication skills.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and staff to discuss progress, share insights, and ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
- Strategy Sharing: Contribute to team meetings, offering recommendations and strategies to enhance student communication skills.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Previous experience providing speech and language therapy to children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of students and needs.
